Something about the elderly guy who setup this blog

Briefly about me: brought up in back-country New Zealand, boarding school educated then on to university. Graduated in 'humanities'. Travelled and taught overseas students. Married overseas and have a family from that, some living overseas and some in New Zealand. When close to retirement, took care of an aged family member while doing some writing. Later, after my father's death, I moved to Christchurch to be with my family. From about 2000 I've lived here with occasional trips back to Sweden to be with the family there. Here, in Christchurch, I see quite a lot of the part of my family that lives here, and was living here through the worst of the Christchurch earthquakes. 'Syai' is almost a life-long hobby, and I quietly work on it at the same time as pursuing my other interests, recently attending philosophy lectures (WEA) and getting to know a bit more about how to find Spanish speakers to practice my Spanish. My general health is good, but in some aspects of my state of health old age is catching up with me.
